Munich based gallery Deborah Schamoni presents Judith Hopf’s exhibition, „end rhymes and openings“. Within her use of art as an autonomous space, the artist creates circumstances in which to dance.
Specifically, by claiming aesthetic autonomy her works forge the possibility for themselves to productively circumvent contemporary discourses. In this perspective, the diversity of her oeuvre as a whole can also be read as a scheme of permanent self-provocation: the continuous changes of media and the multiple collaborations with other artists repeatedly challenge the sedimentations of her own practice.
Judith was born in 1969 and currently lives and works in Berlin. Since 2008, she has been a professor at the Städelschule, a State Academy for Fine Arts in Frankfurt/Main.
